How To Stop Panic
Attacks
Want
to know how to stop panic attacks? You're
not alone. Millions of people suffer from
panic attacks and are desperate to find a
way to stop them. I am going to recommend
to you the one solution that cured my
panic attacks. It is up to you if you
want to try it. If you are serious about
ending your panic attacks permanently,
then my advise to you is to try
Panic Away by Joe
Barry. This program has cured 40,000+
people from their panic attacks,
including myself.
A
temporary way to stop panic attacks are through
prescription drugs. These are nothing more than
temporary band-aids that will allow you to
function properly without having a panic
attack. If you are missing too much school or
work, or you have a fear of leaving your house
(agoraphobia), then prescription drugs will
work to eliminate those symptoms and fears
temporarily.
I mention
drugs as only a temporary solution because
there are many side effects to these drugs, and
long term effects can do more damage than good.
Also, drugs do not get to the root of the
problem that causes panic attacks. Other
treatments such as therapy, or Joe Barry's
Panic Away system, are alternative options
which you should definitely look into if you
want a permanent way of stopping panic
attacks.
I'm
going to take you through a typical
scenario in which might trigger one of
your panic attacks:
You
are standing in a
supermarket line. I
t’s been a long wait but there is only one
customer to go before you make it to the
cashier. Suddenly, you feel
a sensation.
An
unpleasant
feeling develops in your throat, your
chest tightens, and you now experience a
sudden shortness of breath, and all a
sudden your heart skips a
beat.
A
quick scan of the territory—You ask
yourself if it is threatening?
There are many unfriendly
faces all around you.
You start to experience slight
dizziness, as well as the annoying
sensation of pins and needles.
All of a
sudden you realize you are about to have
a panic attack.
Remember
what you have been taught from your
doctor. It is time now
to apply these coping
techniques. Begin the deep
breathing exercise your doctor told you
about. Inhale through the nose, exhale
through the mouth.
They
key here is to relax! While breathing in,
think “Relax,” and then breathe out. But
it doesn’t seem to be helpin. In fact,
just focusing on breathing is making
you feel more anxious.
Coping
technique # 2:
Muscle
relaxation.
Tense your shoulders, hold for
10 seconds, then release. Try it again.
Still no difference? The anxiety is
getting worse and the very fact that you
are out of coping techniques makes your
panic worsen.
Now,
the adrenaline is really pumping through
your body, and your body is tingling with
uncomfortable sensations, and now the
dreaded feeling of losing complete
control takes over your
emotions. You look around and
everyone around you is so calm, and has
no idea the trauma you are going
through at this very
moment.
The main
difference
between someone who is cured of their
panic attacks and those who are not is
really straightforward. Those
who are
cured no longer fear panic
attacks.
The trick
to curing panic attacks is to want to have
one. That sounds weird and contradictory,
but I will explain what I
mean:
You
know the saying that "what you resist,
persists." Well that saying applies
perfectly to this
situation. If you resist a situation
out of fear, the fear around that issue
will persist. In order to stop
resisting–you have to move directly into
the path of the anxiety, and by doing
this, you will not allow the fear to
persist.
What
this means is that if you
voluntarily try to have a panic
attack, you cannot have one. I will
guarantee you cannot have a panic attack
at this very moment if you tried. By
saying that a panic attack is out of your
control, you are choosing to have a panic
attack. Once you realize that you are
fully in control, and face the fear head
on, I can guarantee that you will no
longer have any panic
attacks.
